For about twenty-five years, we have been drying offices and other commercial premises that having sustained damage from the ingress of moisture also had the potential for mould growth.
Our expertise ranges from the full-on flooding of numerous levels of a high rise office building through to minor wet areas from the likes of a leaking appliance. In similar vein, we have carried out mould remediation work in homes and commercial premises.
Ensuring that we remain conversant with industry best practice has sometimes necessitated training overseas and given us access to good networks. We will assess any case and our wealth of experience means you will be in safe hands.
Leaky Buildings In the late 90's we started to realise the scale of the problem that we were going to encounter in NZ with wet building or "leaky home" syndrome. It was just not being recognised as such, the various parties were squabbling about who was responsible rather than what needed to be done to fix the problems, and there were no standards or protocols. Training was undertaken in the USA to consolidate our knowledge and ensure that we were competent to provide appropriate services in our specialist areas.
Mould Remediation On a Mould Remediation course we worked alongside the owner of one of New York's largest restoration contracting companies. His business was heavily involved in the aftermath of New York's 9/11 giving a unique insight on the handling of very large scale emergencies.
Contamination and Public Hazards Odour Another example was how to handle what was a unique job (for NZ). It related to the contamination of airconditioning plant and a consequent odour problem in one of Wellington's larger commercial buildings. This complex is multi-use including retail and has very high use by the public. Being able to ring a colleague in USA, to ask his advice and check on the protocol that I had drafted, allowed us to handle the job very successfully. This returned the building to service quickly and also minimised the potential for an extremely large insurance claim. That colleague is recognised as one of the foremost experts in restoration in the world and was called on to develop protocols required in the aftermath of Katrina.
Dust An electrician had drilled holes in concrete inside a computer facility. The dust contaminated the mainframe. We assisted by setting up a pressurised clean-room with air-scrubbing equipment to allow the entire computer to be dismantled, cleaned and reassembled.
